Botswana Gambling Authority publishes list of approved betting operators
This announcement comes after the authority issued ten national bookmaker licences in May 2025.
Botswana.- The Gambling Authority of Botswana has released an updated list of licensed betting establishments allowed to operate in its jurisdiction.
The list features six operators with physical locations and online platforms across the country, including Sunbet Botswana, Pstbet Botswana, Mecaville Enterprises Ltd, operating as Bet 267, SNB Investments Botswana Ltd, trading as B-Bets, Delta Bay Ltd, operating as Betway Botswana and Direct Wholesale Ltd, known as BetXplosion.
These operators are approved and regulated under the Gambling Act of 2012, which established the authority to oversee all gambling activities in Botswana.
This announcement comes after the authority issued ten national bookmaker licenses in May 2025, formalising segments of the industry and generating more than 400 jobs in casinos and betting shops. While six of these licensees remain operational, three are preparing to launch and one has withdrawn.
The authority published the list to remind individuals about approved betting options, amid growing demands from bettors for the regulator to issue new licences to international operators, citing issues with some current licensees.
Despite concerns, the regulator has repeatedly emphasised its commitment to building a regulated betting sector that prioritises protection for both consumers and operators.
