Botswana Gambling Authority opens applications for risk specialist
The successful candidate will support organisation-wide risk assessments and help maintain the Authority’s corporate risk register.
Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority has invited applications for a risk specialist to support its risk management and internal control functions. In a vacancy notice issued on Friday, September 18, the Authority said the successful candidate will help implement its risk management framework and assess the effectiveness of existing controls.
The role will include maintaining the Authority’s corporate risk register and conducting organisation-wide assessments to identify and prioritise critical risks. It will also involve quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as regular reviews of risk management practices and documentation.
The risk specialist will help develop and validate risk models, review controls within the operational plans of different functions and report risk management issues and internal control weaknesses to management. The position will also involve supporting workshops and meetings across the organisation and monitoring the implementation of recommended improvements to risk management processes.
Applicants must hold a degree in risk management, business administration or a relevant professional qualification in enterprise risk management. A master’s degree or another relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. The Authority requires three to five years of work experience, with a background in a regulatory environment preferred.
