Boardwalk Casino’s new GM Sisulu Madondo sets out gaming vision for Sun International resort
Madondo outlines plans to enhance the gaming and entertainment offering at the Eastern Cape resort while strengthening its position in South Africa’s land-based casino market.
South Africa.- Newly appointed General Manager of Sun International’s Boardwalk Casino, Sisulu Madondo, has outlined plans to enhance the property’s gaming and entertainment offering as the resort looks to build on its position in South Africa’s land-based casino market.
Madondo assumed the role on March 1, 2026, replacing former General Manager Tati Tsunke and taking leadership of the integrated casino and hospitality resort.
The Boardwalk Casino and Hotel combines casino gaming, hotel accommodation, restaurants and entertainment venues within a single resort complex. The property forms part of the portfolio of Sun International, one of South Africa’s largest gaming and hospitality operators, and is considered one of the leading entertainment resorts in the Eastern Cape.
With more than 26 years of experience across the gaming and hospitality industries, Madondo said his focus will be on strengthening the visitor experience while reinforcing the Boardwalk’s reputation as a leading entertainment venue in the region.
During his career, Madondo has held leadership roles at several South African casino properties including Meropa Casino, Sibaya Casino, Windmill Casino and Carnival City Casino. His return to the Boardwalk marks a full-circle moment, having been part of the team that helped launch the casino in October 2000.
Madondo said: “The Boardwalk is more than just a destination; it is a space where we aim to create excitement and memorable experiences for our visitors.”
Madondo added that strengthening the link between gaming and hospitality operations will be a priority as the resort continues to evolve its offering. “I look forward to working closely with the team at Boardwalk to improve the gaming and hospitality experience for guests,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of engaging directly with loyal patrons as part of the resort’s strategy. “I am also looking forward to personally meeting our most valued guests over the next few weeks,” said Madondo.
Under Madondo’s leadership, the resort is expected to continue enhancing its integrated gaming and entertainment offering while maintaining its role as a key leisure destination in South Africa.
