Instant payouts aim to professionalise Nigerian football, reward players for every win and boost competition across the league.

Nigeria.- betPawa has launched its Locker Room Bonus (LRB) in partnership with the Nigeria National League (NNL), injecting NGN 494m (€804,000) into the league and giving a major boost to football across the country.

The initiative rewards every win with NGN1,288,000 (€2,090) for clubs, covering bonuses for 20 players and three technical staff. In addition, the NNL will earn NGN400,000 (€650) per match played each weekend, providing a financial boost for the league while players continue to receive instant bonuses for each victory.

Borah Ndanyungu, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at betPawa, said, according to The Nation Nigeria: “We’re not just handing out cash; we’re building a system that lifts Nigerian football to the next level. This platform gives players the respect they deserve for every hard-fought victory – no delays, no drama.”

Ahead of the rollout, betPawa held a training session for club administrators in Abuja, introducing them to the digital Locker Room Bonus platform. The platform allows clubs to upload line-ups, verify eligible players, and trigger instant payments directly into players’ mobile money wallets. Beyond rewarding wins, the system aims to professionalise the league, increase transparency, and raise competition standards in Nigerian soccer.

A new era for Nigerian football

The NNL has welcomed the initiative as a game-changer. Chairman George Aluo said: “Football is not like fast food where you cook in the morning and eat in the evening. You build a solid foundation and see the results over time. In the NNL we worked hard to rebrand and clean up the league, and that is why we can now attract genuine partners like betPawa. This initiative is a game changer for our players and our league.”

The Locker Room Bonus has already transformed soccer in Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda, boosting win ratios, reshaping competition and propelling women’s football to historic milestones. With Nigeria now joining the movement, the league is set for a new era where victories pay off instantly, both on and off the pitch.
