Players will earn bonuses immediately after every match won.

Kenya.- betPawa has partnered with the Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) to introduce the Locker Room Bonus (LRB) in the FKF Women’s Cup.

The LRB program allows female players and technical staff in the women’s league to earn financial rewards for winning matches. The bonuses are paid out immediately after each game, providing winning teams with instant rewards for their victories.

For preliminary matches, each winning team will receive KES 85,000 (€580) per match. In addition to the team bonus, each member of the winning squad, comprising 23 players and three technical staff members, will individually receive KES 3,300 (€22).

The team that wins the championship will receive KES 118,300 (€808), and each of its 23 players and three technical staff members will earn KES 4,550 (€30).

The LRB initiative demonstrates betPawa’s commitment to promoting excellence in football across Africa. The bonus ensures that every win counts in the FKF and will further drive the growth of women’s football in Kenya.

Ivy Nyonyozi Igunduura, betPawa’s East Africa regional manager, said: “At betPawa, our belief in investing in sports development and nurturing talent across Africa is unwavering. The Locker Room Bonus transcends a traditional sponsorship; it’s a concrete commitment to ensuring that women’s football in Kenya receives the recognition and support it rightfully deserves.

“When players and their dedicated staff are directly rewarded for their hard work and achievements, the entire sport flourishes. We are immensely proud to partner with the Football Kenya Federation to champion this transformative change.”

With direct monetary rewards now attached to winning matches, FKF women players will be more motivated to perform at their best. This would make the league more competitive and attractive to spectators and potential investors.

Harold Ndege, CEO of the Football Kenya Federation, said: “This collaboration with betPawa is a game-changer for the FKF Women’s Cup. The Locker Room Bonus initiative provides much-needed financial relief to our talented female players while simultaneously elevating the tournament’s prestige by directly rewarding exceptional performances and victorious teams.”

betPawa is bringing the LRB to Kenya’s FKF following its successful launch in Malawi’s women’s regional football league. The initiative is also live in countries like Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda.
