The 15km Kapsabet Road Race brought together runners of all ages, celebrating athletic excellence and community spirit under the #BetikaNaCommunity initiative.

Kenya.- Betika proved it’s more than a betting company in Kenya when it hosted the 2026 Kapsabet Road Race, transforming the town’s streets into a 15km (9.32 mile) arena where runners competed for a prize pool exceeding KSh1.4m (€10,500).

Betika, a leading sports betting operator in Kenya, runs betting across football, athletics and other sports. Its #BetikaNaCommunity initiative goes further, supporting grassroots sporting events such as road races and local football tournaments. Betika said: “Over 1,000 athletes made the town of Kapsabet their playing field as they competed for over 1.4m in prizes.”

By combining prize incentives with community engagement, the company strengthens its presence in the sports and betting sector while giving athletes platforms to compete beyond professional arenas.

Runners of all ages turned out for the event. Young athletes tested their endurance while seasoned competitors chased top positions, each aiming for both the prize and the recognition that comes with performing well in a town known for producing elite long-distance talent.

The Kapsabet Road Race is part of the wider #BetikaNaCommunity initiative. In towns where running is part of daily life, these events combine competition, local enthusiasm and sponsorship. They demonstrate that a betting operator can do more than offer wagers – it can give runners a reason to push themselves, spectators a reason to cheer and communities a reason to celebrate together.
