Batswana Gambling Authority announces multiple job openings

The recruitment effort reflects the Authority’s growing operational demands as it continues to supervise Botswana’s gambling sector.

Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority has launched a new recruitment drive across audit, compliance, finance and administrative roles as it seeks to strengthen internal capacity and regulatory oversight.

According to an official notice, the vacancies include two internal auditors, three compliance and monitoring officers, a revenue assurance officer, accounts assistants for both receivables and payables, a legal officer and a driver. The Authority has set March 27 as the closing date for all applications.

The recruitment effort reflects the Authority’s growing operational demands as it continues to supervise Botswana’s gambling sector, particularly in licensing, compliance enforcement and responsible gambling initiatives.

For the internal auditor roles, the regulator seeks professionals who can provide independent, risk-based assurance while reviewing governance, risk management and internal control systems. The positions involve executing audit assignments, analysing financial and operational systems for inefficiencies or non-compliance and preparing audit reports with recommendations for corrective action.

Applicants are required to hold qualifications in finance, accounting or related disciplines, with certifications such as ACCA, CIMA or CISA considered relevant. A minimum of three years’ experience in internal or external auditing is also required.

The compliance and monitoring officer roles will focus on ensuring licensed operators meet regulatory requirements, while the revenue assurance function will support financial oversight and reporting accuracy. Finance-related positions, including accounts assistants, will manage receivables and payables, contributing to the Authority’s financial management systems.

The recruitment also covers legal and administrative support functions, indicating a broader organisational effort to strengthen both regulatory enforcement and day-to-day operations.

Interested candidates are required to submit an application letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, along with a detailed CV, certified copies of academic certificates and a certified identity document.

Applications are to be sent via email, with candidates instructed to specify the position applied for in the subject line. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted after the application deadline. The Authority has also directed applicants to its official website for additional information on the vacancies.

The hiring process is expected to support the Authority’s mandate to maintain compliance, transparency and accountability within Botswana’s gambling industry while reinforcing its internal governance structure.
