The historic deal makes Betway Formula 1’s first official betting operator, providing fans across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Canada and Mexico with access to official in‑play and pre-race wagering products.

Kenya.- Africa has been featured in Formula 1’s multi-year partnership with online betting operator Betway, marking the sport’s first official betting deal. African fans, along with those in Europe, the Middle East, Canada and Mexico, will have access to official in‑play and pre-race betting products.

The Malta-headquartered Betway, part of the Super Group which also owns online casino Spin, will leverage ALT Sports Data, Formula 1’s official betting data supplier. This allows for real-time predictive analytics and tailored odds, enabling in-play wagering on key race elements such as pit stops, safety car periods and on-track battles between drivers and teams.

“Sports betting is now a natural extension of how many modern fans engage with live events,” said Jonny Haworth, Formula 1’s Director of Commercial Partnerships, according to Times Live. “As a series with vast and complex data sets, our innovative partnership with Betway allows our adult fans to take a step closer to the strategy and action that makes it so thrilling.”

The partnership is expected to cover key regulated markets where Betway operates, such as Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. The 2026 Formula 1 season features a 24-race calendar and an expanded grid of 11 teams, with competition now in full swing across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
