Zynga loses mobile’s audience
The Californian company believes the decline in the number of bettors is due to the lack of new game releases.
US.- Zynga published its 2015 data that informs a 11 percent growth in the revenue, but the loss of 6,000 daily online mobile players. The total income reached US$764.7 million. In words of Mark Pincus, founder and chief executive: “In terms of our financial scorecard, for 2015, we made good progress in our transition to mobile on a bookings level but, due to the lack of significant new releases, we saw an overall decline in our audience.”
Now, Zynga is preparing the launch of ten new games in order to regain players. Pincus believes that the further challenge will be to maintain the loyalty of those customers and support user acquisition at scale through LTV. “For 2016 and beyond, growth and profits will be driven by our ability to continue our momentum with live franchises and execute on new game launches. In 2016, we have better visibility into our slate than ever before, with six new games already in soft launch,” he commented.
Its net income per share loss noted an improvement from US$0.26 in 2014 to US$0.13 in 2015. The annual booking perceived a 1 percent growth and the core live mobile franchises (Slots, Words With Friends and Poker) a 63 percent.
