Dario Jurčić, Digitain: “In order to expand to regulated European markets, you really need to be close to the customers.”

During SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, Focus Gaming News sat down with Dario Jurčić, Chief Commercial Officer for Europe and Africa at Digitain, to discuss his move to the company, its expansion plans and its approach to regulated markets.

Jurčić, who previously held CEO and SVP roles at NASDAQ-listed companies, said that when he decided to change he looked for companies whose culture and product matched what he likes, and Digitain “was obviously first on the list”. His primary task, he explained, is to grow the team and make Digitain’s solutions “famous” and “well known” in European and African markets, especially the regulated ones.

On hiring, he said Digitain has a core of more than 6,000 people in Armenia but is “constantly opening new offices”, including Bucharest, with 300 people, as well as Madrid, London and Malta. To expand in regulated European markets, he argued, “you really need to be close to the customers”. The company is therefore adding account managers, technical account managers, support, and legal and compliance specialists to help partners through what is usually “a painful transition from another platform”, which Digitain wants to make “as seamless and great as possible”. That includes reducing downtime and time to market, increasing player bases and GGR, and bringing new features.

Jurčić also stressed the breadth of the platform, which covers an omnichannel solution, sportsbook, PAM, a casino with more than 50,000 games, payment gateway, CRM and affiliates. Partners, he said, see Digitain as “a trusted single one-stop shop”, avoiding the complexity, cost and finger-pointing that come with multiple suppliers when an incident occurs.

On markets, he said interest in Digitain has grown “sky-high” as it has opened up. The company is strong in Belgium, Portugal, Greece, the UK and South Africa, and at the time of the interview was preparing to open Italy, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria. “In basically one year we opened the most difficult and most reputable European markets with concrete partners,” he said, adding that the goal is to “catch them all” across regulated Europe and Africa. In Africa, Digitain works with local teams and focuses on local customisation: “One size doesn’t fit all,” he said, with multiple front ends available and an API that operators can use to customise the product themselves, or have Digitain do it for them.
