During SiGMA South America 2026, Focus Gaming News had the opportunity to speak with Aneta Khalatyan, Business Development Executive at PopOK Gaming, who discussed the company's significant success, particularly within the burgeoning Latin American market. Khalatyan began by announcing PopOK Gaming's recent achievement: an award for their game, Yo Dragon, as "the most played game." She specifically highlighted its exceptional performance in Brazil, attributing the win to the team's diligent efforts. Expanding on their regional triumph, Khalatyan confirmed the company's success in getting their games onto more Latin American platforms. She noted that PopOK Gaming has established a strong presence in the region, especially in Brazil, stating that their "name is already on the top providers list." A key element of their strategy, Khalatyan explained, is the creation of games specifically tailored to the local market. The 'Rico' series, featuring 'Rico Rabbit' and 'Rico Tiger', exemplifies this approach, being "specifically created for Brazilian operators, for Brazilian players according to their preferences." These games are celebrated for their easy gameplay and amusing characters, and PopOK Gaming is actively seeking new local operators to forge robust partnerships and further expand its market influence. Addressing the creative force behind these popular titles, Khalatyan revealed that whilst the development team is not particularly large, their collective hard work ensures success. Each new game is meticulously crafted based on customer preferences and extensive market research, meaning "each game is tailored according to the preferences of each market." This bespoke approach involves their technical, design, animation, and sales teams working in synergy. Khalatyan also underscored the importance of characters and mascots, particularly in Brazil, where "mascots work very well." She mentioned the prominent presence of their Rico Rabbit mascot at the PopOK stand, humorously describing him as "responsible for the show," creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. Looking ahead to 2026, Khalatyan outlined ambitious plans for PopOK Gaming. The company intends to continually develop new content, not solely for the Latin American market but for broader expansion. This will include fresh iterations of the 'Rico' series with new, entertaining characters, alongside the introduction of new crash games and instant games, which are highly popular in the industry.
