Wyoming sports betting attracts $6m in bets in first month

US.- The Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission has reported that in the first month of legal online sports betting in the state, Wyoming took in $6.24m worth of bets.
Wyoming’s gross gaming revenue for September was $954,416, but the month’s net sports betting proceeds was negative impact -$123,970. The total tax amount was negative -$12,398.
Football was the most wagered on sport in Wyoming, accounting for 58 per cent of the state’s overall handle at $3.64m.
The state launched its regulated mobile sports betting market in time for the start of the NFL regular season.
Online sports betting was authorised in Wyoming in early September, making the state the 23rd to legalise sports betting and begin betting operations. The Wyoming Gaming Commission has approved operating licenses for Genius sportsbook partners DraftKings and BetMGM.
