US.- Nevada gaming revenue for May was down 99.4% year-on-year to just US$5.8m. It’s still an increase on April’s revenue, which reached only US$3.6 million.

The drop was of course due to the continued closure of venues through May owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Casinos in Nevada were able to reopen on June 4.

The only sources of revenue for the gaming industry during the three months of closures were mobile sports betting and poker, as well as a small contribution from land-based slot machines in retail outlets.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is not permitted to provide figures for individual operators, but it’s believed that a large portion of the revenue taken during the period will have been through Caesars’ WSOP.com, the only online poker product available in the state.
