Srihari confirmed that the intention is to eliminate gambling in all forms and that by amending the Gaming Act, online gambling would be banned as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cyber police will track online gambling and act against violators,\u201d added the Deputy Chief Minister. The new measure includes online skill-based games like online rummy. The ordinance that was approved by the state cabinet is now waiting for the approval of the Governor Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshmi Narasimhan.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, last month <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/india-considers-gaming-regulation\">it was announced<\/a> that India was considering the option of becoming a legal market in Asia, in order to compete with potentially profitable local gaming hubs, such as Japan and the Philippines.
