{"id":116719,"date":"2022-04-29T18:15:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T21:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/?p=116719"},"modified":"2022-05-06T11:10:19","modified_gmt":"2022-05-06T14:10:19","slug":"caliente-interactive-approved-as-sports-betting-operator-in-illinois","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/caliente-interactive-approved-as-sports-betting-operator-in-illinois","title":{"rendered":"Caliente Interactive approved as sports betting operator in Illinois"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Mexico-based operator has received a licence from the Illinois Gaming Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>US.- The <strong>Illinois Gaming Board (IGB)<\/strong> has approved Mexico-based operator <strong>Caliente Interactive<\/strong> for an online sports betting licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, IGB announced a December 3 deadline for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/illinois-sets-new-deadline-for-sports-betting-licences\" target=\"_blank\">applications for three online-only sports betting licences<\/a>. The new permits would be issued in line with the Illinois Sports Betting Act and would go to three operators that don\u2019t currently hold a licence or temporary licence in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Illinois sports betting handle drops to $679m in February<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Illinois sportsbooks <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/illinois-sports-betting-handle-drops-to-679m-in-february\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">took $679m in bets in February<\/a>. It\u2019s the first time since September that the handle fell below $700m, represents a 21.8 per cent drop from the record $867.5m wagered in January. The figures reported by the Illinois Gaming Board were however up 33.3 per cent from February 2021\u2019s $509.8m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betting volume reached $23.4m per day, somewhat lower than January\u2019s $28m-per-day figure.
