Widus International to open new hotel in the Philippines
The South Korean firm will celebrate the inauguration of the Clark Marriott hotel in the Clark Freeport this week.
Philippines.- The tourism industry continues to expand in the Philippines as casino companies keep investing in the country and new developments get built all across the nation. Add yet another hotel to the expansion, as South Korea-based company Widus International Leisure Inc. will open its Clark Marriott hotel in Clark Freeport this week.
“The Clark Marriott does not have a casino directly attached to it, but it is connected to the existing Widus Hotel and Casino as part of the integrated resort,” a company representative said, as quoted by GGRAsia. Its development is part of a €432 million expansion plan which will see a fourth tower added by 2020 to the existing buildings.
The newest building is 15-storeys high and will have 260 rooms for guests, only meters away from the existing casino next door. The gambling venue is equipped with 54 gaming tables and 342 slot machines, distributed in a 48,437 square feet floor.
The company expects to be listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange soon, but representatives say an IPO “is still in the pipeline” as the company is “still studying the feasibility of the market.”
