Vietnam casino announces opening date
VinaCapital reported that its new casino will open in the first quarter of 2019.
Vietnam.- According to VinaCapital Group, Vietnam will enjoy a new casino in the first months of 2019. The Hoiana casino will be located near the UNESCO World Heritage site in the area of Hoi An, in Quang Nam.
The first phase of the US$4 billion facility presents a 445-room hotel and over 200 residential apartments. The hotel that will be operated by New World Hotels of Hong Kong also includes a Rosewood luxury resort with 25 residences and 75 villas, besides a golf course. Hoiana casino is currently being constructed by a partnership between VinaCapital, Gold Yield Enterprises and Suncity Group.
Don Lam, project chairman of the casino, said that this represents a new high for Vietnam’s tourism, and considers that Hoiana will become one of the most renowned resort destinations in the continent. Furthermore, the government started plans to expand the international airport in order to be ready when tourists arrive to enjoy the casino resort.
Do Xuan Dien, head of the management board for the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone said the project received an investment certificate in 2010, but the construction was delayed, especially after Genting Malaysia Berhad, member of Malaysian Genting Group, announced it would withdraw from the project in September 2012.
