Veikkaus appoints Leena Vainiomäki as deputy chair

The Finnish state-owned operator Veikkaus has named Leena Vainiomäki as deputy chairman while Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo continues as chair.

Finland.- The state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus has named Leena Vainiomäki as deputy chairman of its board.

Vainiomäki previously worked for Danske Bank as country manager for Finland and, before that, head of business banking.

She also spent a stint at Nordea and served on the boards of Finance Finland, Varma and Danske Bank Russia.

Veikkaus appointed Vainiomäki to the role at its annual general meeting. It confirmed that Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo will continue as chair of the board.

Christian Cedercreutz, Pekka Hurtola, Anne Larilahti, Juha Pantzar and Hanna Sievinen will remain members of the board, and Jukka Gustafsson will remain chairman of the supervisory board with Jani Mäkelä as deputy.

In its full-year results for 2020, Veikkaus reported a 32.6 per cent drop in profit.
