Wynn’s name could be removed from casino licence

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission may remove the mogul’s name from a Wynn Resorts’ casino resort license near Boston.

US.- The Steve Wynn sex scandal continues to haunt Wynn Resorts as the Massachusetts Gaming Commission has agreed to hold a public hearing on a request to remove the mogul’s name from a licence to operate a casino resort near Boston. However, the businessman’s attorney replied to the regulator and explained he’s not related to the project anymore.

The Boston-based attorney wrote a letter to the commission and explained Wynn has no “ownership interests” in Wynn Resorts and should no longer be considered to be involved with the US$2.4 billion casino project nor any financial or business association with the company. Furthermore, he attached documents submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in order to prove the point.

“The commission no longer has jurisdiction over Mr Wynn — he is a private Nevada citizen unaffiliated with Wynn Resorts LLC or any commission licensee,” wrote the lawyer. In addition, the letter explained that Wynn won’t cooperate with requests for information in any Massachusetts investigation.

“The commission’s decision at the hearing will not end the current investigation… as to allegations of misconduct against Steve Wynn and the handling of those allegations by Wynn Resorts and its officers and directors,” executive director Edward Bedrosian said.
