UK Tote Group seeks new chief operating officer
Dave Hammond has left UK Tote Group after three years with the pool betting operator.
UK. The UK Tote Group has confirmed that Dave Hammond has stepped down as chief operating officer after eight months in the role and three years with the pool betting operator. Hammond joined the operator in April 2023 as chief commercial officer before being promoted to COO in August 2024.
Before joining the UK Tote Group, Hammond held senior positions at Inspired Gaming Group, Paddy Power Betfair, SBTech and DraftKings. He also founded Betconsultancy.com in 2018 and headed the sports betting blockchain venture Spartos.
UK Tote Group CEO Alex Frost commented: “We’d like to thank Dave for his significant contribution to the Tote’s growth during his time as part of our team. He’s taking a much overdue career break and will always remain a close friend to the business. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
The UK Tote Group is now seeking a replacement while the wider horse racing sector continues to grapple with governance challenges and decline in betting revenue. The British Horseracing Association this week urged people to oppose the Gambling Commission’s intention to sign off on gambling financial risk checks via the Save our Bets campaign.
UK Tote Group also offers other products, including sports betting and online casino. It has deals with Wigan Warriors’ men’s and women’s teams and recently entered a deal with BetMakers to integrate its quantum technology.
