UK gambling revenues up 57% over the past decade
National Audit Office reveals that revenues from licensed gambling have increased €4.7 billion in real terms between 2008/2009 and 2018/2019.
UK.- The National Audit Office (NAO) has analysed data from the Gambling Commission to reveal that revenues generated by licensed gambling has increased 57% or €4.7 billion in real terms over the past decade.
Gaming operators in the country – excluding the National Lottery – generated total gross gaming yield of €13 billion over the period.
In particular, online gambling has spiked, with revenues increasing from €1.1 billion per year to to €6 billion per year between 2008/2009 and 2018/2019.
