UK gambling revenues to plummet 17% by 2024

UK.- Revenues from gambling and betting activities in the UK will decline over the next four years to US$70.5 billion in 2024, according to data gathered by GoldenCasinoNews.com.

The figures relate to the licensed UK gambling and betting industry, which covers online and land-based sports betting and casino, bingo and lottery.

The report forecasts that total revenues for 2020 will hit US$79.83 billion but then fall to US$76.98 billion in 2021, a drop of 3.7 per cent year on year.

For 2022, the report estimates the sector could generate US$74.42 billion but then fall 31.1 per cent to record US$72.12 billion in 2023.

“Generally, gambling and betting sector revenue has been declining since 2012 due to various factors fuelled by a change in legislation”, the report said.

The only anomaly was 2017 when the the sector recorded $101.02 billion.
