Wynn Resorts has confirmed that construction on its Wynn Al Marjan Island resort continues despite some staff relocations amid Middle East tensions.

Jacqui Krum, executive vice president and general counsel, told the Nevada Gaming Commission on March 26 that the company remains in constant contact with its UAE team.

Krum said: “We have been in constant contact with our team members in the UAE, and I would like to commend them for their remarkable commitment. It’s been very difficult for them.”

She added that some employees had relocated “based on the advice of their embassies”, and work was paused for a couple of days but has resumed.

The design and development team continues to oversee site work, while the executive team focuses on operational planning.

Wynn Al Marjan Island, UAE’s first integrated resort with casino gaming, is expected to open in early 2027. The $5.1bn project in Ras Al Khaimah is 40 per cent owned by Wynn and partners with local investors.

Earlier this month, Wynn offered UAE employees the option to work remotely if embassies recommended relocation and provided extra housing for safety.

Wynn Al Marjan Island on track for 2027 opening
