Playtech subsidiary secures UAE vendor licence
VSTechnology Limited becomes the 23rd supplier authorised by the GCGRA in the UAE.
Playtech subsidiary VSTechnology Limited has been granted a Gaming-Related Vendor Licence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), becoming the 23rd supplier authorised by the country’s gaming regulator, according to its public register.
Playtech acquired Gaming Technology Solutions, the previous owner of VS Technology and VS Gaming, for up to €21.6m in a deal announced in December 2009. VSTechnology Limited is registered as a wholly owned UK subsidiary of Playtech engaged in licensing online gaming software and games.
Although the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has added VSTechnology to its public register of licensed gaming-related vendors, it has not disclosed when the licence was issued, its licence number, or the products and services covered by the approval.
The addition expands a supplier list that includes major industry companies such as Aristocrat Technologies, International Game Technology, LNW Gaming, Novomatic, Konami Gaming, Scientific Games International, Cammegh and Endorphina.
While the number of licensed suppliers continues to grow, operator licences remain limited. The GCGRA currently lists Wynn Al Marjan as the only licensed land-based gaming facility, The Game LLC as the operator of the UAE Lottery, and Coin Technology Projects LLC as the licence holder for internet gaming and sports wagering.
