Tomakomai leads IR talk in Japan
Despite Japan casino laws still being under debate, Tomakomai city has already discussed opportunities with IR operators.
Japan.- The casino industry in Japan still needs another push from lawmakers as IR legislation is yet to be approved in order to get the segment well established in the country. However, Tomakomai city has already received fifteen responses from IR operators to their initial RFI process and has taken the lead in the potential installment of gaming venues within their jurisdiction.
There’s a mix of local and international companies seeking to develop IRs in Japan, but Japanese parties are reportedly looking to intervene in a secondary role and not operate the venues themselves.
On the other hand, international suitors -which are mainly originary from the US- are set to receive the visit of city officials in November to show them operating IRs and discuss business opportunities in Tomakomai.
Furthermore, city officials are also planning to discuss the future of the gaming developments with local citizens and will explain the government’s plan to tackle problem gambling and several other related issues.
