Texas Lottery sets record breaking year
The Texas Lottery became the largest single contributor of funds to the southern sate.
US.- According to official figures from the Texas Lottery Commission, the Texas Lottery has gained more than US$5 billion in total sales for its fiscal year, which also broke the previous record set in 2015.
The Texas Lottery has handed over more than US$1.37 billion to the state’s Foundation School Fund, alongside US$14.7 million for its Fund For Veterans’ Assistance over the past twelve months, whilst also highlighting the outstanding scratchcard sales that also hit a record of US$3.2 billion.
Executive Director for the Texas Lottery, Gary Grief, said: “This is the first time in our history that we have generated more than US$5 billion in sales and we want to thank Texas Lottery players and our more than 17,000 retailers for their outstanding support.” Grief also said that they’re excited to celebrate the extraordinary growth they have achieved and proud to make their largest contributions ever to both Texas public schools and veterans’ programs.
The Executive Director commented that their continued success is partially attributed to the administrative costs that represent 4.4 percent of annual sales, one of the lowest expenditure rates in the country.
