Racetracks seek alliance with casinos

New Jersey Racetracks could benefit from online gaming operations by setting partnerships with casinos.

US.- Online casino industry could also improve financial situation of racetracks in New Jersey under a new regulation. The local Assembly is about to debate a new law regulating partnerships between casino operators and racetracks companies in order to allow further profits from the online gaming industry.

The state’s assembly has received an amended bill 4255 that establishes: ”a running or harness horse racetrack in this State may enter into an agreement with a casino located in Atlantic City, or such a casino’s Internet gaming affiliate, that allows the racetrack’s premises to be available as a venue at which the holder of an Internet gaming account may place wagers at casinos using the Internet.”

Furthermore, Sen. Raymond Lesniak has introduced a bill to “permit Internet gaming equipment to be located outside of Atlantic City if the division deems it necessary to facilitate the conduct of international Internet wagering.”

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Director David Rebuck had stated that New Jersey law “is very restricted in that the gaming servers” and explained: “The actual gaming servers that allow for the outcome of the game to be determined, have to be in Atlantic City, and that’s just not a business model that they were willing to adopt.” Meanwhile, legislators would be close to allow further expansion of gaming possibilities in the state.
