Okada Manila close to grand opening

The newest Philippines casino is close to its February grand opening.

Philippines.- After announcing that the grand opening was expected for the first quarter of this year, it was officially confirmed that Okada Manila will open its doors to the public on February 17. The complex is part of a major project introduced by the country’s government several years ago.

Andrea Domingo, chair of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), announced the news in an interview with the Inquirer. The US$2.4 billion resort offered a soft launch and preview on December 20, although the hotel and restaurant weren’t open to the public, but a portion of the casino was accesible. Okada Manila will feature a casino floor with 500 gaming tables and more than 3,000 slots machines. it will be the largest integrated resort to open doors in the Philippines.

Officials from Okada Manila said that they expect the casino to be profitable in the first year of operations, whilst they anticipate that the initial investment will be returned in three to five years. More than 8000 permanent employment positions were offered to operate the facility.
