Swedish regulator to fund problem gambling research
Swedish gaming regulator Svenska Spel offers €440,000 fund to support organisations researching gambling addiction.
Sweden.- Svenska Spel, the Swedish gaming regulator, has announced it will commit €444,000 to problem gambling research.
The cash will be used to fund projects focused on combating and treating gambling addiction across the country.
Organisations interested in securing funding need to submit an application to the regulator before 30 April.
Funds will be granted to organisations researching addiction, other preventive measures, gaming responsibilities and risk/protective factors.
The application process will be overseen by Svenska Spel’s Research Council, while the Swedish Central Association for Alcohol and Drug Information (CAN) will support the Swedish regulator.
The money comes from an annual scheme launched in 2010.
