Swedish horse racing monopoly in talks with Kambi
The ATG operator has entered final stage commercial discussions with Kambi Group.
Sweden.- Kambi Group plc has revealed that the company is in final stage commercial discussions with Swedish horse racing monopoly operator AB Trav och Galopp (ATG). The deal will see Kambi Sportsbook offered to the horse racing operator’s customers.
The announcement comes in the middle of ATG’s internal product testing, and Kambi decided to update the market to avoid speculation. The partnership comes as Sweden prepares to introduce a new regulatory framework, one which will enable ATG to complement its horse racing product with a full sports betting offer for the first time. Kambi said that it will give more details about the commercial impact that the deal will have upon its completion.
In 2017, ATG held an 18 per cent share of the local gambling market, and total turnover reached the US$1.56 billion market, a 2.8 per cent increase from the previous period, while net revenue rose three per cent.
