Svenska Spel revenue up 6.3% in Q3
The Swedish gaming operator has reported revenue of €197.2m for Q3, with a strong recovery for land-based casinos and slots.
Sweden.- Svenska Spel has reported a 6.3 per cent rise in revenue year-on-year for Q3. Revenue came in at SEK1.97bn (€197.2m). Gross gaming sales hit SEK4.72bn, up 5.2 per cent year-on-year. Winnings paid came to SEK2.75bn.
The Tor lottery division remains the largest contributor, generating SEK1.55bn – up 2.2 per cent. Sport and casino revenue rose 7.3 per cent to SEK526m.
The land-based casino and slot hall chains Casino Cosmopol and Vegas saw revenue rise by 64.9 per cent thanks to the reopening of land-based gaming following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Total operating profit was up 31 per cent year-on-year to SEK696m. Net profit was up 25.1 per cent to SEK552m. For the financial year to date, revenue is up 6.5 per cent at SEK5.91bn.
Patrik Hofbauer, CEO of Svenska Spel, said: “During the third quarter, all our operations were finally up and running again – for the first time in more than fifteen months.
“With all our operations open, more employees back in our offices and high energy in the organisation, the outlook for the entire Swedish gaming sector looks positive.”
