Superbet to acquire Napoleon Sports and Casino in Belgium
Romania’s Superbet will acquire 100 per cent of the shares in Belgium’s Napoleon Sports and Casino.
Belgium.- Romania’s Superbet will enter the Belgian market through its acquisition of Napoleon Sports and Casino.
It will purchase 100 per cent of the shares from the current owner, the investment fund Waterland Private Equity Investments.
Superbet Group chief executive Johnny Hartnett said that the deal would aid the company’s expansion in Europe, noting that it would benefit from Napoleon’s staff.
He said: “Napoleon’s core market and brand positioning in Belgium represents the ideal acquisition opportunity to deliver on our global expansion plan. It also delivers on our growth strategy of bringing in additional revenues from regulated markets with a strong online profile.
“Additionally, we’re looking forward to welcoming a hugely experienced and talented team to the Superbet family, who we believe are exceptionally well placed to deliver on market share gains in Belgium and beyond.”
Napoleon Sports and Casino chief executive Tim de Borle said the two companies shared similar strategies, including a big focus on data.

Superbet was advised on the deal by Oakvale Capital, PJT Partners, Latham & Watkins, PwC, CMS and Herzog Fox & Neeman.
Last year, Superbet acquired a majority stake in online casino operator Lucky 7 to expand its online casino portfolio and diversify across wider geographical markets.
Last month, Superbet and Swedish games developer Gaming Corps reached an agreement for the exclusive distribution of Gaming Corps igaming products in the Romanian market.
