Online gaming, a winner in Denmark

Spillemyndigheden, the National Gaming Organisation, shared the industry’s results for the second quarter.

Denmark.- The European country announced a development in the second quarter gross gaming revenue, obtained in the sports betting and online casino sectors. According to the Danish Gaming Authority, Spillemyndigheden, the gambling industry gathered in 935 million Danish Krone –US$140.72 million dollars– until June 30.

Of that total, sports betting contributed with 540 million Danish Krone –US$81.26 million–, meaning an increment of 15 percent in comparison with the amount generated last year. As to online sports betting sector, the results achieved were of 355 million Danish Krone –US$53.42 million– in gross gaming revenue.

Online casinos and poker services, on the other hand, perceived 395 million Danish Krone –US$59.44 million– in gross gaming revenue. Online slot games generated the 68 percent of the total market share. Poker, the 10 percent; roulette, the 6 percent; blackjack, the 5 percent and other games, 11 percent.
