Northwest Indiana casino revenue grows 23% in June

During June, the four casinos in Northwest Indiana saw revenue increase by 23 per cent year-on-year to $93m.

US.- The four casinos in Northwest Indiana have reported $93m in revenue for June, an increase of 23 per cent year-on-year.

According to the Indiana Gaming Commission, Horseshoe Hammond led the pack, with $34.5m in revenue. That’s a 6.5 per cent increase from the previous June ($32.4m).

Hard Rock Northern Indiana more than doubled the revenue of the former Majestic Star Casinos it replaced. It posted $25.9m in revenues, up from $12.1m.

Ameristar in East Chicago reported $21.6m (+20 per cent), and Blue Chip in Michigan City $11m (-15 per cent).

“With Hard Rock, what everyone was expecting to happen is happening, and not necessarily at the expense of the other properties,” said Ed Feigenbaum, editor of Indiana Gaming Insight. “People are coming back to the casinos.”

”We continue see our most loyal guests, Caesars Rewards members, make return visits and there is strong interest in taking advantage of travel benefits. Reservations for summer travel to various Caesars Rewards resorts continue to ramp up, including Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City,” said Shannon McKellar, vice president, marketing, at Horseshoe Hammond.
