Springfield Casino on its way to be completed
Springfield luxury casino is going to be the first full-scale commercial complex in Massachusetts state.
US.- MGM Resorts announced that the construction of the Springfield complex is going to be faster from now on. After a few past delays, due to a comprehensive review by historic preservation authorities, the brand is ready to enter into full construction phase in order to open the casino’s fancy doors in September 2018.
MGM Springfield president, Michael Mathis, revealed that this week the parking garage –with 3,400 car spaces– is going to be the first part of the major building to be constructed. This phase of the project gave 2,000 temporary job positions, 700 construction workers are currently hired and further 3,000 jobs will be given once the casino is opened. MGM Resorts presented new design improvements such as 6-story building and a 10 percent reduction in the casino and hotel square footage.
Springfield casino was announced in March 24, 2015 and later that year MGM Resorts applied for permits to open the casino in 2018. MGM alleged that the beginning of the operations in 2017 would have concurred with the construction work on the nearby highway and it would have been negative for the activity in the place. The distinguished casino brand will pay US$25 million per year to Springfield’s government.
