New York’s sports betting recovers in January
Sports betting operators in New York registered US$1.9 million in revenue during January operations and doubled December’s figures.
US.- After registering record-low numbers in December 2019, sports betting in New York recovered in January by posting US$1.9 million in revenue. This figure is two times bigger than what they had posted in December.
The most popular facility in the state was Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady, which is the closest casino to New York City. Its Kambi sportsbook generated US$778k, which is a 149.8% month-on-month increase.
On the other hand, the sportsbook at del Lago Resort and Casino in Seneca County was the revenue leader in New York, as it totalled US$610k, representing an 82% increase over December’s figures.
Moreover, Resorts World Catskills posted revenue of US$395k, approximately five times higher than what it had achieved in December 2019.
December results
Revenue from sports betting operations in New York posted a year-low in December, totalling just over US$780k. This figure represents the lowest since New York legalised and launched its sports betting market in July 2019.
The US$780k that sportsbooks generated in New York represent a significant setback from November’s performance, which was previously the worst that the state had recorded in its first four months.
