New sports betting operation launches in Indiana

A new sports betting operation has launched in Indiana as Majestic Star Casino has introduced ‘your hometown sportsbook’ at the Spectacle’s venue.

US.- The sports betting segment continues to expand in Indiana. Spectacle will launch ‘your hometown sportsbook’ together with BetIndiana in its Majestic Star Casino.

The mobile sportsbook will allow customers to bet on major sporting events from anywhere within state boundaries. 

“This is the perfect partnership for us,” President and founder of USA Sports Gaming Frank Ignatius said. “Like BetIndiana, Spectacle Entertainment is an independent operator in the gaming industry, born in the Midwest. 

“We are extremely pleased to sign this agreement with Majestic Star to launch our BetIndiana mobile product,” added Ignatius. “In addition to Indiana, we are making plans to operate in several other markets around the country, as more and more states legalise sports wagering.”

Sports betting revenue in Indiana

The Indiana Gaming Commission has released the financial report from September operations, which recorded the first full month of sports betting activity in the state. The data shows that sports fans bet more than US$34.5 million in September.

Football was the biggest sport in the state in September, accounting more than US$20.7 million. That figure represents 60% of the money wagered on sports during last month’s operations. Besides football, wagers on the outcome of other sports totalled 28% of the market, followed by baseball’s 10% and basketball’s 2% of the sports betting market in September.
