Sports betting in Nevada off to a good start in 2021
While Nevada’s sports betting figures for January didn’t beat its record set in October 2020, sportsbooks reported strong results.
US.- Nevada’s sportsbooks reported strong figures for January, kicking off the year with a handle of $646.5m. The state has only passed the $600m mark on three previous occasions.
Sports betting revenue reached $52.4m, its second-highest monthly total yet, and generated taxes of $3.5m for the state of Nevada based on its 6.75 per cent tax rate.
Football was the most popular sport among Nevada’s bettors in January. Players wagered a total of $288.4m on the sport, generating revenues of $25.6m.
Nevada’s figures were the second highest in the US for January behind New Jersey.
