Soft2Bet secures landmark North American brand licensing deal with WPT Royale a World Poker Tour licensee and partner to scale igaming operations
Multiyear brand licensing agreement grants Soft2Bet the rights to combine its technology and Ontario operating licence with the worldwide brand recognition of WPT Royale, a World Poker Tour official licensee and partner, to launch a new casino and sportsbook in Ontario.
Press release.- Soft2Bet today (July 1) announced a pivotal North American strategic brand licensing agreement with WPT Royale, a World Poker Tour (WPT) official licensee and partner under which it has been granted the rights to use the WPT Royale brand — owned by WPT Royale, a World Poker Tour (WPT) official licensee and partner — for a new igaming offering in Ontario. The new WPT Royale-branded casino and sportsbook will be developed, launched, and fully operated by Soft2Bet under its own Ontario operating licence and proprietary technology stack, serving one of the region’s most prominent regulated jurisdictions.
As part of this licensing agreement, Soft2Bet will launch a new igaming experience specifically tailored for Ontario players. The project is subject to all necessary regulatory approvals, with a targeted launch expected in the coming months following completion of regulatory filings.
The new brand launch will be developed, operated, and fully supported by Soft2Bet under its Ontario gaming licence, using the proprietary technology stack that has revolutionised the igaming industry and will provide Ontario players with a customised gaming experience anchored by the most advanced player protection systems to ensure safe and responsible gaming.
Additionally, the new Casino & Sportsbook will be headlined by Soft2Bet’s groundbreaking Motivational Engineering Gaming Application (MEGA) product. Unveiled in 2023 and used by operators around the world, MEGA has redefined and transformed gamification with increased engagement, customised player experience, and a proven player retention model.
For decades, WPT has been leading innovation in the sport of poker around the world, reaching millions of poker players with televised events in more than 150 countries and territories, along with a significant presence across online and mobile Assets.
Almost 20 years before the launch of WPT Royale, the World Poker Tour took the poker boom to new levels by hosting major poker tournaments around the world and launching the likes of Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, and Mike Sexton to stardom as they became fixtures in the industry.
Through this agreement, Soft2Bet has secured the rights to launch and operate the WPT Royale brand in Ontario, leveraging WPT Royale’s industry-leading brand equity and intellectual property to support a powerful market entry.
Andrew Cochrane, chief commercial officer of Soft2Bet, said: “This engagement with the WPT Royale is a significant milestone that reinforces Soft2Bet’s commercial standing across North America. Starting with our launch in Ontario, we are demonstrating how our proprietary technology and operating expertise can power global brands in highly regulated environments. This is a clear indicator of our business strength and long-term trajectory in the region.”
Quyen Nguyen at WPT Royale said: “We’re excited to partner with Soft2Bet for the launch of the WPT Royale brand in Ontario, a key regulated gaming market for WPT Royale. Following a competitive evaluation process, Soft2Bet stood out through its technology, operational expertise, and proven track record. WPT Royale represents an important expansion beyond poker, bringing the trusted WPT experience into casino and sportsbook verticals while delivering a new entertainment destination for players.”
The planned launch of the new igaming casino builds on Soft2Bet’s commitment to growth and to delivering hyper-localised brands across North America and Canada. Specifically in Ontario, the company also powers the highly successful and popular ToonieBet, which serves as both an Official Sports Betting Partner and an Official Online Casino Partner of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
