Senecas open sportsbook at NHL arena
The KeyBank Center in Buffalo is now home to a new sportsbook from the Seneca Nation, called Seneca Sports Lounge.
US.- Sports fans from New York are now able to bet on their favourite teams at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. The home of the National Hockey League (NHL) team Buffalo Sabres opened on Saturday morning the sportsbook Seneca Sports Lounge.
The sportsbook features 15 TVs, a sports ticker and space that allows ticket holders and Club Seat to interact while the Sabres are playing. The lounge opened on time for the first game of the season, which took place on Saturday night,” mytwintiers.com reported.
Seneca Nation President Ricky Armstrong said that both the tribe and the Buffalo Sabres have been driving forces behind building excitement in that section of Buffalo. “The Seneca Nation is happy to partner with the Buffalo Sabres.”
Moreover, Kim Pegulla, Sabres President and co-owner of the team, said that the lounge is both a social and educational space for league fans that want to check how other teams are doing. “As state law changes, we look forward to really partnering with the Senecas to see if there are ways we can grow with them as well in the future,” she added.
The Senecas plan to expand sports betting
New York legalised sports betting earlier this year. The Senecas said that they want to add sports betting services at their casinos in the state, but that they do not have a timeline for when that will happen at the moment. However, they said that the Seneca Sports Longe at KeyBank Center is a preview of what a sports betting space could look like in a casino.
