Saratoga Casino unveils outdoor gaming
The Upstate New York Saratoga Casino expanded its offering with a new outdoor gaming terrace.
US.- Saratoga Casino Hotel has officially unveiled its new outdoor gaming terrace. The US$1 million, 1,500-square-foot facility gives visitors the possibility to play machines while watching live harness racing through louvre-panelled windows.
The outdoor gaming terrace is located near the track’s finish line. Racing events take place from Wednesday through Friday and Saturday nights. The terrace features 50 slot machines.
While there were some concerns about the weather and how it could affect operations in the outdoor terrace, the Saratoga outdoor gaming area is climate controlled. It features infrared heating panels that provide comfortable temperatures during the colder months. It also offers vaulted ceiling fans to cool the space during the Summer.
General Manager Alex Tucker commented that the opening is the first of several major improvements that will take place for this year. The casino is responding to strong competition from one of the other two facilities. Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady and MGM Springfield, located in neighbouring Massachusetts, are competing with Saratoga.
Located in historic Saratoga Springs, New York, Saratoga Casino Hotel offers over 1,700 slots and electronic table games. Together with live harness racing, simulcast wagering, dining, live entertainment and a 117-room hotel all under one roof.
