Russian casino selects operator

Sochi’s gambling hub announced the results of the bidding process for the new casino.

Russia.- The Russian press has confirmed the step forward taken by gaming authorities and the government in the upcoming gaming hub, Sochi. The Russian tourist zone has granted the first casino license to develop the industry in the expected project. Sochi’s Krasnaya Polyana (Red Meadow) casino selected its operator yesterday.

According to a press release issued later on Monday by the Krasnodar Region administration, the winning company is LLC Domain. The future operator of the upcoming Red Meadow casino was established by the Singapore-based construction company Silverron International Pte.Ltd in December 2015. Mikhail Danilov, chief executive offiver of LLC Domain is familiar to the Russian gaming industry, as he has interests in investments in Altai and Primorye gambling zones as well. Furthermore, the casino mogul owns shares two Russian bookmakers, Star Bet and Bingo Boom.

“Following its application LLC Domain has been granted permission to carry out activities for the organization and conduct of gambling in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone by the Department of Property Relations of Krasnodar Region,” the press release expressed. However, authorities have not revealed the names of further operators, neither the date when the casinos would be set.

Sochi’s Krasnaya Polyana first licensed casino is ready to open its doors when the government and LLC Domain complete the agreement. A preview and a soft-launch of the casino would start by Christmas eve of this year, whilst the gaming venue would be completely active by the first months of 2017.
