Royal Caribbean lifts mask mandate and casino smoking ban
Royal Caribbean International has announced that it is reverting its protocols.
US.- Royal Caribbean and other cruise lines imposed stricter face mask protocols in December and January due to the Omicron variant of Covid-19. However, the cruise line is announcing that it is reverting its protocols back to how they were before the sharp rise in cases.
From February 15, 2022, guests will be able to go mask-free in spaces opened to vaccinated guests only, including select restaurants, bars, entertainment options and casinos. The ban on smoking at casinos will also lifted.
Masks will still be required while in other indoor public areas, except when seated and eating or drinking. They are also required while visiting public ports of call where local regulations require them.
Meanwhile, Norwegian Cruise Line will not require masks to be worn anywhere on its ships as of March 1.
