Romania received US$ 293 million from gambling
Romanian gambling firms paid EUR 269 million (US$ 293 million) in taxes last year.
Romania.- According to Odeta Nestor, president of the National Office for Gambling (ONJN,) gambling companies paid EUR 269 million (US$ 293 million) in taxes only in 2015.
Leaving aside the online gambling operators, gambling firms paid EUR 70 million (US$ 76 million) just for licenses and authorisation fees.
Back in 2014, gambling companies paid the Romanian state EUR 157 million (US$171 million.) Last year’s amount increased by 71 percent.
Romania had 488 active operators last year. The number of authorised online gambling companies was 19.
