The National Gambling Office ONJN has issued a new raft of blocks against gambling sites.

Romania.- The National Gambling Office ONJN has blocked another 26 unlicensed gambling sites in Romania. The latest list of blocking orders features Sloty.com and a1xSlot.

The Romanian regulator has been regularly updating its list of blocked sites since it began in 2015 ahead of the introduction of regulated igaming.

Players visiting sites that have been blocked are redirected to a message that reads “Your access to this site has been restricted by the National Gambling Office” with details on the ONJN’s blacklist.

Other sites now added to the list include 888starz, 888starz1, 22bet1, Brazino777, Casinogods, Casinojoy, Genesiscasino, Pariscasino6, Rantcasino two Vulkanvegas sites and Vegashero.

Meanwhile, in Germany the trade association Deutscher Sportwettenverband (DSWV) has warned that more needs to be done to combat unlicensed gambling in Germany. Although sports betting stakes rose 27 per cent to €9.4bn in 2021, returning to pre-pandemic levels, the DSWV says the black market is “rampant”.
