Rivers Casino unveils expansion details
The casino that started operations in February in New York revealed more details of the new hotel that is set to open in July.
US.- Schenectady’s gambling facility Rivers Casino & Resort announced the name of the upcoming hotel that is set to boost the tourism activity in the area. The Landing Hotel is part of the original structure of the casino.
The company behind the casino also revealed a new logo before hosting a job fair on Sunday, which is looking to fill positions of both the hotel and the casino that is still offering more than 100 jobs. General Manager of the casino, Mary Cheeks, said that the process of finding the right people is time consuming because classes and legal processes are involved in the operations, as World Casino News reported. The process is being lead by customers complaints, who said that drink service has been lacking what it needs.
Back in April, the casino’s Vice President of Marketing Danny Brockdorf said that he doesn’t expect MGM Springfield to have a significant impact on their operations. “Our customers are more likely be out here, make a day trip — we do have the resort to really cater to folks who are already coming into town,” he said in an interview. “I don’t see much of an impact from MGM Springfield,” he said, and commented that the majority of their visitors come from nearby towns like Albany and Saratoga. Our casino, along with hotel and resort product, allow us to draw from outside of just the local radius, but, of course, we do depend a lot on the local area to support the business. There’s competition, as well as this attraction that we’re looking for from a regional standpoint. Our draw is generally within 150 miles: that’s our radius.”
