Rivers Casino reports best revenue month
The New York facility reported its best month ever on August as it grossed US$14.4 million in revenue.
US.- New York has expanded its casino market in the last few years, as more than three facilities opened their doors in Upstate New York. While the first months of operations weren’t as good as expected, it seems as though Schenectady is ready to change its fate, as Rivers Casino & Resort recorded its best month to date in August.
August was the best revenue month ever for the facility, while the last week of last month was also the best single revenue week ever. The casino totalled US$14.4 million in revenue on US$132.7 million gambled. The previous highest gross registered was US$13.9 million in March 2018.
Rivers managed to keep 67% of August’s gross, or US$9.61 million, and the rest were paid as taxes, of which approximately US$240k were destined to the city of Schenectady. Those two numbers are also the highest ever in the 19 months of operations of the casino.
This year, the casino averages US$12.9 million a month in gross gaming revenue and US$220k a month in tax payments to its host city. Last year, it averaged US$11.6 million a month in gross gaming revenue and destined US$189k to Schenectady.
A spokeswoman for the casino said: “We are very thankful for the community support and our loyal guests and continue to focus on providing a great experience for them every time they walk through the doors.”
