Rhode Island reports US$13.1m in sports wagering
The Ocean State reported its first full month of sports betting operations, which totalled US$13.1 million in revenues.
US.- According to the latest figures released by the Rhode Island Lottery, the entity that manages sports betting in the state, the gambling modality accepted US$13.1 million in sports betting handle during its first full month of operations.
Twin River Casino was the facility that totalled the largest amount of money in wagers in December, as it took US$11.1 million, while Tiverton Casino reported US$2 million. From that number, Twin River generated US$835k in revenue, and the latter saw revenues of US$123k, taking the total in the state to US$958k.
While sports betting is expected to be a billionaire industry in the United States, there are some states that offer the modality in a limited number of facilities, such as Rhode Island and Delaware, which generated US$8.2 million in handle and revenue of US$500k in its first month of full operations.
