Resorts World Manila is reopened

The Philippine casino Resorts World Manila has been reopened after the deadly shooting.

Philippines.- International touristic attraction in Philippines, Resorts World Manila reopened its doors yesterday after two weeks of investigations related to the deadly shooting held by Jessie Javier Carlos, a 42-year-old local who had a gambling addiction. Travellers International Hotel Group Inc immediately ceased the activities and a week later, Pagcor urged the total closure of the venue.

“Travellers International Hotel Group Incorporated received today a letter from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation lifting the June 9 suspension order of the company’s provisional license [and] noting that the company has taken action to address issues in its safety and security procedures as well as the welfare of the at least 6,000-strong workforce of the company and their families whose livelihoods are affected by the suspension,” stated the operating company.

“In line with this, the company is happy to announce that the gaming areas not affected by the June 2 incident will commence operations today.”

The company revealed after the attack that the second floor of the gaming area has been severely damaged due to some fires started by the problem gambler who killed 37 people and then shot himself. Travellers International Hotel Group Incorporated also postponed its annual stockholder meeting that was scheduled for mid-June to a more appropriate date.
