Resorts World Genting seeks Indian tourists

The Malaysian facility is expecting the opening of a theme park to attract more Indian visitors to the resort.

Malaysia.- Ajay Sharma, Indian country manager for Resorts World Genting, said that the company is expecting the opening of the theme park called Twentieth Century Fox World to increase the number of visitors from India to the resort.

The manager said he expects the number of visitors to reach 30 million by 2020, India being in the top four ranking in terms of visitors. Sharma expects the number of Indian visitors to reach 300k by 2020, up from the 250k that was forecasted before the outdoor theme park closed its doors.

The redevelopment of the integrated resort as part of the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan has costed the Malaysian IR operator approximately US$2.5 million. The facility is expected to open its indoor theme park in February 2018, whilst the outdoor theme park will open sometime in the third or fourth quarter of next year.
